Odense (day 13 & 14)

Sorry for being so behind on my blogging, the last hotel that we were in was in Odense, Denmark and the wireless internet was terrible. So I am going to fill you in with the last couple days that happened in Odense, because now we are in Copenhagen.

Day thirteen (day one of Odense): On this day we arrived a little later in the day so we went straight into the city and ventured out to explore. I did some shopping for some friends, and then we had some home-made ice cream in home-made waffelcones, it was delicious. One thing I have also observed is DANES LOVE TO BIKE! they have HUGE biking lanes, and you can get run over if you don't be careful! I have gotten beeped at by plenty of bikes. I also wished that I payed more attention at Norwegian camo when the Danes were there so I could understand more!

The Danes love their bikes!

Day fourteen (day two of Odense): On this day the principles of the schools suprised us with taking us to the Egeskov castle because they wanted us to see a historical part of Odense. When we arrived to the castle we were all instantly having a good time, because several hundreds of school children were on a field trip there, and obviously future teachers we loved seeing all of these little Danish kids. The place were the castle was located was more like a funland, it had maizes, museums, playgrounds, flower gardens, birds, ponds and of course the castle. The one thing that I really enjoyed was this thing called "climbing the trees" which was like a walkway way up in the trees, it was just really cool to see everything from up above, and I kept saying that I felt like George of the Jungle. We also went into a car museum, that was really interesting. The one museum that I liked the best was the one that contained old dresses, that the lords in the castle wore. It was really cool to see the outfits that everyone in the castle wore, from the butler to the school teacher and to the maid. Finally the castle! The castle was spectacular! The castle is called Egeskov, which means "oak forest" this is because the castle is literally built on oak trees, and then later was filled with water to surround the castle to serve as a way to protect the castle because the enemies could not swim into the castle they would get shot. In the castle we saw a lot of interesting rooms, but I think the most interesting one was the attic! In the attic loft there lies a wooden figure, and according to legend if the wooden figure is moved the whole castle will fall down on christmas day. It was super creepy, and I thought to myself I would never want to move that thing!
